Cedars-Sinai Cardiac Suite 2013

Version 2013 of the Cardiac Suite brings a host of new features and improvements. Here are some that you might be interested in.

TID and lung & heart counts

Yes! After many years of waiting we are now able to bring these features to all our customers. Transient Ischemic Dilation calculation was one of the most requested features from our non-Philips customers, and it's finally here. And that's not all...

QGS+QPS: one application

No more need to launch separate applications for function and perfusion, it's now one program, one button to click, and QGS and QPS pages are available in one place. One of the biggest benefits? No need to load data twice. But what if you liked having separate windows for function and perfusion? Well...

Multi-monitor support

Split your application into as many windows as you would like, place them on any number of monitors (including one, if that's what you have!). You can easily detach any of the pages and lay them out as you like. Next time you start the application, it will remember the positions of the windows. And if you have an amazing setup with 6 monitors (or more!), go right ahead, there is no limit to the number of monitors we support.

Built-in reconstruction and motion correction

So you have loaded your data and you don't like the reconstruction or reorientation of the short axis datasets. Or perhaps you see some cardiac motion that should be corrected before quantitative processing. No problem, reconstruct and motion-correct any of the raw datasets directly within QGS+QPS with our built-in FBP and iterative reconstruction. Have you used a Pegasys or JetStream system before? You'll feel right at home with our familiar interface--and if you haven't, you'll find out how easy to use it is.

Group processing

Sometimes you have to manually adjust the valve plane in either the stress or the rest dataset. What if QGS+QPS considered both datasets simultaneously, and processed the data with this combined knowledge? The result is less operator intervention, leading to increased reproducibility for all quantitative numbers.

There's more!

From an improved Defaults editor to additional languages, to optional standard scoring for summed scores (as opposed to our slightly less intuitive calculation that involves redistribution rules).

Reporting

Our report generator has been vastly improved with Appropriate Use Criteria, support for Blood Pool and CTA, administrative reports, and many UI enhancements

Data management

Our brand new data manager is more powerful than ever. Whether you have 100 or 100,000 studies, finding the patient you're looking for is a snap. Tag patients, studies, or series. Assign studies to colleagues for reading or review. From a lightweight solution for laptops to an industrial-scale server solution for a multi-site provider, we have you covered. And it's all designed with the nuclear cardiologist in mind--unlike so many PACS--but it works for any modality.

And let's not forget the improvements we brought in Suite 2012

Enhanced motion/thickening limits, CFR and MBF, automatic registration, native OS X support, to list but a few.

System requirements

Cedars-Sinai Cardiac Suite 2013 supports Windows XP and later (Vista, 7, 8, and soon 8.1), and Macs running OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and later (Lion, Mountain Lion, and soon Mavericks).

What is the PlusPack module?

PlusPack groups several useful, advanced quantitative and productivity features in one bundle. These features are:

  • Motion frozen: compensate for cardiac motion to generate sharper perfusion datasets
  • Serial change assessment: directly compare serial studies, bypassing comparisons to statistical databases
  • Prone/Supine SPECT perfusion quantification: help eliminate artifacts by merging information from both acquisition positions
  • Shape index calculation: quantify ventricular remodeling, an early marker of disease
  • Phase analysis: assess mechanical dyssynchrony using powerful quantitative and visual tools
  • Powerpoint export: launch the Cardiac Suite from within Microsoft Powerpoint® for enhanced, more interactive presentations

This application provides cardiac function quantitation using perfusion datasets: ED and ES volumes, ejection fraction. The image data can be viewed in a variety of modes, from selected slices in a 2D view to a rendered 3D surface of the myocardium with function maps (perfusion, motion, thickening and regional EF).
QPS - Quantitative Perfusion SPECT
In addition to cardiac parameters, such as chamber volume and wall area, this application provides perfusion analysis of ungated datasets by comparing rest and stress datasets to a database of normal values (also called normal limits) using statistical methods.
This bundle also includes the CSI data management application and the Companion module (AHA 17-segment scoring, diastolic function, eccentricity).

Basic Perfusion + Blood Pool SPECT Bundle

What is the CSI data browser?

Our software packages are designed to be installed on your computer, not on vendor workstations. To use the quantitative applications studies need to be transferred from your acquisition systems to your computer with the Cedars-Sinai software.

CSI allows you to transfer studies and manages the datasets on your computer. Its main features include:

  • Pull data from DICOM Query/Retrieve and FTP servers as well as legacy systems
  • Push data from DICOM systems to your computer
  • Import data from CDs or other removable media, or from a network share
  • Simple, intuitive data management lets you organize data in folders to manage clinical and research projects
  • One-click anonymized mode hides patient identification so you can use the software in interactive lectures
